This term we will be working on ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ by my favourite Author; Roald Dahl. Did you know he was from Norway just like me? We were talking about Sir Quentin Blake who’s the illustrator of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and many more. With a little bit help of my Mum and Twitter, I managed to send off a one question interview to Sir!

“Dear Sir Quentin Blake,

What was your inspiration and imagination behind the illustrations of Roald Dahl’s ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was almost the last Roald Dahl book I illustrated. I just followed the text! The characters’ appearance is entirely based on Roald Dahl’s text and my own imagination. Characterisation comes from the text too.”
